They did not honor my reservation

I had great expectations for my stay in this resort. I booked on Jun 30, for my stay on August 4. I booked a standard TWO QUEEN room for two people. Why did want a two queen? well, because they other person I was traveling with does not feel comfortable sleeping in the same bed with me, and I prefer to sleep alone too. I got a confirmation email and I was charged 50% up front ($84.27) and the remaining 50% was to be paid upon completion of my reservation. The reservation was for TWO QUEEN BEDS, and two people. I drove all the way from West Yellowstone, Montana, about 103 miles and 3 hours. I got to the Hatchet at about 3 pm (check in time) When I got there the people in the front desk said that I only owed $20 because they had changed my room ... pete_22_88, a user of Tripadvisor. Worst Motel Experience...Ever!

The word “Resort” does not belong in any description of this overpriced backwoods motel straight out of the 1950’s. I am 70 years old, have traveled the country extensively, and found this to be the first motel about which I felt compelled to warn people. If you stay here, you deserve exactly what you’ll get! I suggest this place be renamed “The Last Resort if You Can’t Sleep in Your Car Motel”. The Hatchet Resort web site is the most misleading of any that I have ever compared to reality. Here are the details. Two couples and a single adult had reservations for 3 rooms for one night. We arrived about 5PM on August 20, 2008 after a long day traveling through Yellowstone and a final 8 grueling miles, about 25 minutes, over a dusty, torn up highway under construction. We were met by a surly male desk clerk who tossed us our room keys after saying the road conditions were “no big deal” and out of their control.
