We stayed at Mittersill Resort in mid-August 2006. The resort is located at the base of Cannon mountain and a 5 minute drive to all Franconia Notch has to offer--hiking, Echo lake beach, bike trails, boating, the amazing Canon Tram, etc. We were also only 15-20 min. drive from Crawford Notch and ... This resort in Franconia, New Hampshire is the closest we have come to a real European alpine resort here in the states.
