I visited tent city in August after reading all the positive reviews here, against my instincts and memories. I stayed at PUP when it first opened, and I had an awful time. My husband heard and read all about how they have worked the kinks out, and they now are world class. I guess they are getting great reviews in Conde Naste, etc. He loves luxury and begged me to give PUP another chance. Well fool me twice and shame on me. 2.0: A bit dissapointing for the price

We just returned from visiting the resort on Friday evening. Obviously with the fire situation around the resort, we knew that our experience would be slightly affected in terms of air quality and activity availability which was obviously not the fault of the resort. The food at the ranch is far too fussy and pretentious. It is as if the chef is trying to make gourmet and unusual dishes that end up tasting wrong and sometimes downright yucky. Anyone who frequents fine dining restaurants would agree that POMP is certainly not a five star dining experience. During our visit to POMP, the Bison, which was ordered Medium, was delivered almost raw, the rice was undercooked and my fish dish was inedible. Meanwhile, little kids were running around our table grabbing things off tables and laying on the floor. In my opinion, the entire restaurant system needs to be rethought. Offering more simple and hearty meals would be more appropriate for the clientele. Perhaps having a children free restaurant would also be a good idea. 5.0: Adventure under the Big Sky

As a local resident of Missoula, MT, the closest city to Paws Up, I had heard plenty about the resort around town. This spring, I decided to check things out for myself and have a bit of adventure at the same time. I chose to go to Tent City for one night and then on to the Encampment at Bull Creek. Paws Up calls Tent City “roughing it redefined.” I would say that they have got it right; it certainly is like no camping trip that I have ever been on.
