The Melhana Plantation is a really nice place -- great main house, nice rooms, and a really great 1930's indoor tile pool. Construction on the farm started in the middle of the 19th century, and it's been improved several times since. The room we had in the Foshalee building was great, and a good price at $99/night. I took my significant other there for his birthday. We stayed overnight at the Inn and had dinner in the restaurant. I chose Coalson Plantation (formerly known as Melhana) because of its stellar reputation for special occassions. I knew going in that the plantation has recently undergone a downgrade from a "five star" establishment to a "4 star," but was not prepared for what we encountered. I'll start with ...
