Notable for having its own "village" complex, Northstar is a great place to spend your ski holiday. The Village provides other sports like ice skating and, oddly enough, bungy jumping, and kids' activities, too. They offer a special lift pass for parents to share when they're trading babysitting duties, and there are a number of on-site accommodation choices. of this comes cheap, but family bundles, lodging packages, or multi-day passes can mitigate the cost.

Visited Squaw (3x), Sierra (3x), Kirkwood (2x), and Boreal(never again)this year, and overall I'd have to put Northstar at the top of the list. The lifts, the snow, the lodge, the runs... everything is great. Had a great time and ... more on Yahoo! Travel

We wanted to stay in Tahoe for a few days, but the rooms at Cal-Neva had gotten considerably pricier from last year. Our studio condo was decorated beautifully. The kitchen was fully equipped and we had a gas grill on our deck nestled ... more on Yahoo! Travel
