Great place for families; okay for business stays
My business brought me to Carlsbad so I did two overnights at the the Grand Pacific Palisades Resort & Hotel. Because I arrived later on in the evening, the staff member who handed me my keycards didn't give me one of the massive "welcome" packets I saw other guests carrying around during the daytime. Instead of a tiny hotel room, the front desk put me into a massive "condo"-sized room, certainly more appropriate for a family than for a single business traveler.
