Found Cedars, not the "Resort"

I read reviews of the Cedars Resort and knew to have realistic expectations but was still quite disappointed with the accomodations. Reviewers who were lucky enough to be placed on the eastern end of the property raved about the beautiful balcony views and those who stayed on the western side warned of the traffic noise and less-than-stellar views. Unfortunately, I was put in a roadside room and the traffic noise was indeed irritating. Great for us!

I admit - I allowed my signiticant other to book the hotel and got a little nervous when I read the tripadvisor reviews. Having stayed there, I can now say that I think some people may see "resort" and expect they're getting a bargain rate for one of the luxury resorts in Sedona — I think of these as the same people who fly SouthWest and complain that they didn't get good seats. The Cedars is no luxury resort. It is a comfortable, clean hotel in a fantastic location with to-die-for views - and the price reflects that. LOCATION.
