My g/friends and I were there again in Aug 05 and no, it was not the same. The house wasn't the as clean or well-kept as in years past. gross and unsafe overall nasty
first the price was outrageous after we seen the condition the place was in....NO TELEPHONE..no working smoke alarms...the whole place was dirty..beds hard...floor worn and dirty..no bolt on the door, staff wasn't helpful at all..didn't clean..made our beds one time, people kept us up all hours. ... This motel is quite simply the worst place I have ever stayed. How can I describe it....let me count the ways! Dirty. Filthy. Uninspiring. Drab. Out-of-date. Decrepit. Overpriced. Smelly. Moldy. NOT SURE WHAT ITS LIKE NOW
I AND MY PARENTS USED TO GO TO CAROLINA BEACH EVERY YEAR SINCE I WAS A SMALL CHILD. WE ALWAYS STAYED AT THE SURFSIDE MOTOR LODGE. MY DAD WAS A BIG FISHERMAN AND IT WAS EASY FOR HIM TO WALK TO THE DOCK AND GET ON THE "MUSICMAN" BOAT CHARTER WITH THE GUYS AT 5AM OR SOONER EVERY MORNING DURING OUR S... A Yahoo! Never ever ever ever stay here.
If you are sitting at home, contemplating a romantic, spontaneous trip to the beach, do NOT book a room here. Heck, if you are planning a quick, cheap trip with the boys, do NOT book a room.
