We loved our stay at the Blue Swallow

My husband and I decided to take a Route 66 road trip for our honeymoon. Old Route 66 charm, newfangled awful detergent on the sheets

The Blue Swallow is the oldest working motel on Route 66 in Tucumcari and offered us a little blast from the past for just $36 plus tax. Pictures of the motel, with its neon sign, show units separated by little garages. Alas, very few of these are available to guests and appear to mostly be used ...
