I used to stay at Hojo's (Newark Airport) during past visits, but would definitely stay at the In-Town again-cheaper room rates, no charge for parking-a lot of the places around the airport charge up to $20. more on TravelPost.com

Typical sixties-style rooms: mine was quite large, with a spotless bathroom, although the main room furnishings were a little tired-looking; nevertheless, it was a comfortable, quiet stay at $55.00/night + taxes. more on TravelPost.com

One final note-to be fair-try to deal directly with the owner at the In-Town, as his assistant manager wasn't very helpful. more on TravelPost.com
