The room that I initially booked smelled like old sweat, had a non-working remote, and one of the drawers for storage was nailed shut. If the Smithsonian wanted to create an exhibit of what motels looked like in 1958, they could use this place, right down to the pre-lawsuit-age glass shower doors on the bathtub. The Sleepy Hollow Motel is the choice of my husband and I whenever we want to take our grandchildren to Maine and not have to mortgage our house to do so.
