Big Disappointment
We thought something was amiss when saw the motel: the sign was beautiful, but the building itself didn't look well-kept. We had a confirmed reservation for a room with a king-sized bed and a clock radio. After we checked in and saw the room, we noted that the room had neither the clock nor a kin... Crusing the PCH in my rag top circa 1965
On my quest to save money on my last trip to California, I booked the Travel Lodge on Priceline for $72 a night. As I drove deeper into town, I remembered the line of hotels on the old Pacific Coast Highway from my childhood in the 60's. I didn't realize the Travel Lodge would be one of them.
