Can't recommend it but the price was right
I stayed here when I took the Bar Exam at the San Mateo Expo Center. There are two places within a short walk to the Expo Center, and the Howard Johnson's, across the street, was full, so I ended up at the Firestone Lodge. If I have to stay in San Mateo again - and I certainly hope I passed so I don't have to repeat this experience - I will stay at the Merriott and walk a little further. I checked ...
