My wife and I recomended my brother in law (wifes brother) and his significant other stay there for the weekend do to my family was having a wedding reception for my wife and I. more on TripAdvisor

There is a multitude of fine hotels in Gainesville and if it happens to be a game weekend and they're all filled, try Alachua or High Springs 10-20 minutes north of Gainesville. more on TripAdvisor
