Awful Hospitality

... our son to Old Town once a month to visit family. We usually stay with them, but decided to stay in a hotel this last trip. Directions
Main entrance is located on the south side of the highway about 1/6 mile East of the Suwannee River on highway 19 in Fanning Springs, Florida. The town is approximately 40 miles west of Gainesville Fl. via highway 26 to Fanning Springs, then north on US highway 19 about 1/2 mile to the park. It is also about ten miles north of the town of Chiefland on US highway 19.

- Additional Info: Safety Notification Due to the state?s varying drought conditions, Florida state parks and county officials are working to determine the appropriateness of open campfires and charcoal or propane grills. Please call direct, or select the park homepage, at www.floridastateparks.org, for information on current campfire and open flame policies. If arriving after sunset, please call the park before 5 p.m., at 352-463-3420, for the front gate combination and directions to the cabins. No swimming is allowed when the river backs into the springs and has "blacked" them out. Visitors should call the park for updates on the condition of the spring. A maximum of six persons is allowed per cabin per night. Cabins have two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed, and the other with two single beds. There is a full size hide-a-bed in the living room. All kitchen and bathroom linens are provided. Kitchens are outfitted fully except for paper products and food. Cabins have central heat and air conditioning. Inside gas fireplaces
