The Ritz-Carlton is known for having fun and sometimes quirky perks at its luxury hotels (and I’m known for enjoying complimentary stays at Ritz-Carltons so I can confirm how fantastic they are for you).
In this video from ABC News, the Ritz-Carlton’s Vivian Deuschl, corporate vice president of public relations, talks about the luxury hotels’ more interesting amenities. Here’s the rundown of the hotels she describes in a video I’m unable to embed:
- Ritz-Carlton, Central Park: Feed horses in the park
- Ritz-Carlton Kapalua: Clifford, the cultural ambassador
- Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch: Bachelor, the loan-a-lab
- Ritz-Carlton South Beach: Tanning butler
- Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay: Fire and wine butler
- Ritz-Carlton Powerscourt: Bicycle concierge

While I love the Ritz-Carlton’s idea of renting a Labrador Retriever, someone needs to let Vivian Deuschl of the Ritz-Carlton know that there is no such thing as a “Golden Lab.” There is a short-haired Labrador Retriever and they come in yellow, chocolate and black colors. There is also the long-haired Golden Retriever.
I’ll pass it along when I see her in a few weeks in Beijing.
