I’ve always wanted to visit Nantucket over the Christmas Stroll weekend. I just knew that my children would love to see Santa arrive via Coast Guard vessel, and all of the other fun activities associated with the stroll. We had the opportunity to attend this year, and stayed at Harborview Place – a luxury residence community located right on the Nantucket harbor.
After arriving via Steamship Authority ferry, the GM of Harborview drove us right to our rental home. We stayed in Mainsail, a three-bedroom, three-bathroom home. The view of the harbor, especially from one of the second-floor bedrooms, is absolutely breathtaking. The home itself is gorgeous – it’s decorated with a luxurious coastal theme, and is clean, warm, and inviting.
Harborview Place is conveniently located to everything in downtown Nantucket, and we were able to walk to everything. You may want to bring your car if traveling in the summer, as many of the better beaches are driving distance away (parking is available at Harborview Place). Each unit has free high-speed internet access, cable television, telephones, and concierge access, as well as a fully-stocked custom kitchen.
During our visit, we found Harborview Place to be nice and quiet, as well as extremely convenient. In the summer, though, there’s definitely more activity, and the small private beach offers beach chairs and kayaks. I’d definitely want to return in the summer – I think the whole family would have a wonderful time.
