The h2hotel blogis quite sassy. In fact, everything about this new eco-chic, boutique inn screams  shouts whispers hip. Yes, the hip new h2hotel in Healdsburg’s Northern Sonoma wine country is eco-friendly and down right cool on a hot summer California day.

With 36 light-filled guest rooms, each suite and guest room has its own balcony or patio looking out to Healdsburg’s Fitch Mountain or over Foss Creek. Standard rooms offer king beds that break into two twin beds for mother/daughter weekends or girlfriend getaways.

Rusted Steel Balconies – Thumbs up or Thumbs down?

Believe it or not, Architect David Baker struck a chord with the rusted steel balconies that he designed for the h2hotel in Healdsburg, California. San Francisco Chronicle Design Columnist John King referred to the balconies as branchlike weaves of rusted steel, while others said it looked like “an old slum building with the rust stains running down the walls.” What do you think of the balconies?

Enough about balconies – come to Healdsburg to take advantage of the Green Trail of Dry Creek Valley package.  This bike-friendly package is for visitors who wish to explore the region’s certified organic and biodynamic wineries. Participating properties include Hawley Winery, Michel-Schlumberger, Montemaggiore, Preston of Dry Creek, Quivira Vineyards & Winery and Truett Hurst Winery.

Beginning in September and available through December 2010, the visit begins upon check-in at the h2hotel, a sustainable inn and little sister to Hotel Healdsburg, located off the historic downtown square. Guests receive a two-night stay in a standard guest room; welcome bottle of Dry Creek Valley wine; picnic lunch for two from h2hotel spoonbar restaurant and bike loan during their stay. The Green Trail package rates range from $460 midweek to $690 weekend for a standard room.
