Disneyland has opened the results of its 2.5-acre expansion of Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa to the public. This new wing of the theme park’s premier on-property lodging choice features 203 new guest rooms.

Other new additions to Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa include the Mariposa swimming pool, the Paradise View Terrace on the 6th floor overlooking the Paradise Pier area of Disney’s California Adventure Park, the Grizzly Game Arcade, a guest laundry facility, two gas barbeque grills, underground valet parking spaces and an expanded Pinocchio’s Workshop childcare facility.
Also included in the expansion is the first Disney Vacation Club (DVC) on the west coast. As with all DVC properties, guests are able to experience the comforts of home, such as a fully equipped kitchen, living area, dining area, washer and dryer, whirlpool tub and other amenities, depending on the size of the accommodations. Guests can choose from four different room categories including a studio (sleeps 4), one-bedroom villa (sleeps up to 5), two-bedroom villa (sleeps up to 9) and the three-bedroom, two-story Grand Villa (sleeps up to 12). Many of these villas offer views inside Disney’s California Adventure Park.
One doesn’t have to be a member of the DVC to book a villa, but DVC members do have first priority on these accommodations, so they may sometimes be unavailable to book.
Rates vary according to the season and type of accommodation, but generally expect them to be in the mid-$300 range for a standard room during value season and go up from there. Rates do not include taxes or the daily $12 “resort fee” that covers things such as use of the fitness center, self-parking and high-speed internet access.
