The Beach Club Resort is located in the centre of Mooloolaba. With a great beach, a lovely esplanade, lively restaurants and quirky shops, this is our favourite town on the Sunshine Coast. Malooloolaba is also an excellent base for exploring the area. All the pretty little towns of the Sunshine Coast – from Caloundra to Noosa – is within easy driving distance. So is the hinterland, comprising the beautiful Glasshouse Mountains, the picturesque towns Montville and Maleny and the wonderful Australia Zoo, legacy of the late Steve Irwin. The Sunshine Coast also offers excellent water activities, including diving among sharks or to the sunken ship HMS Brisbane.
The Beach Club offers convenient, comfortable and affordable lodgings. It’s one block from the main street, so you won’t be bothered by noise from traffic. If you prefer swimming in a pool rather than in the ocean, The Beach Club has a nice one, as well as a child-friendly glass-bottomed shallow plunge pool, a sauna and a gym.
My kids and I stayed in a large apartment with two bedrooms, a large living room and a full kitchen. We stayed 4 days. The apartment would have been well-suited for a much longer stay as well. All apartments have patios or balconies, the superior ones have quite large balconies, great ocean views and private BBQs (this is Australia, after all).
The Beach Club is good value for money. Rates (for two people) begin at AUD 175 per night, then gradually decrease to 105 per night for longer stays. Special golf or diving packages are also offered.
