The angels have arrived and landed at Secrets Marquis Los Cabos. In fact, you’ll see the Trilogy of Angels sculpture, created by Mexican artist Jorge Marin, upon arrival to the Baja California Sur property. The story goes that the angels have re-humanized during their time at Marquis Los Cabos and shed their wings.
If you are looking to rejuvenate your body and awaken your senses, Marquis Los Cabos, situated in San Jose del Cabo, is a five star spa & casitas resort waiting to attend to your every wish. From golf and fishing, to star-gazing and horseback riding, staff stand ready to create vacation memories for honeymooners, family-friendly, multi-generational travelers or those looking to escape work and spread their wings.
Luxury Escape at Secrets Marquis Los Cabos Ocean Front Casita
Shrug off the airport baggage experience with a 10 minute welcome neck and back massage upon arrival. A five star rated property and member of Leading Hotels of the World, your personal butler service begins with VIP check in, unpacking and packing luggage service, complimentary ironing, shoe polishing and activity and dinner planning. There are plenty of things to do in Los Cabos, Mexico during your stay. My butler, Ricardo Barcelata, arranged horse back riding at nearby Cuadra San Francisco and a trip to old town Cabo del San Jose before my flight back to Northern California.
Family-friendly Casitas
In addition to the Markid’s Club – open to all families with children, casita guests also have access to the VIP room, steam room and Jacuzzis at the Spa ($15 daily rate to those not booking Spa services) and unlimited internet access. Children and adults will look forward to the daily complimentary wake up amenity. It is cleverly delivered in a side compartment next to the front door; easy for room service to access, yet non-intrusive, as you are not aware of the daily delivery until you open the side window. It reminds me of opening the December daily windows in my holiday advent calendar, only the amenities are platters of fresh fruit, home-made pastries, hot coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice, delivered with a scaled down version of the morning newspaper.
Romance waiting at Canto del Mar restaurant
Families traveling with young children, make sure to take advantage of the complimentary two hour babysitting service offered one night. For those looking to re-connect with a spouse, I highly recommend making advance dinner reservations at the Canto del Mar (Song of the Sea) 20 seat restaurant upon arrival. Think Thomas Keller’s Napa Valley, California French Laundry dining experience, complete with a five course tasting menu, yet priced at a reasonable $70-$85, including tax and tips – wine is an additional charge.
Casita with a View
While there are no “bad views” at the 237-suite Secrets Marquis Los Cabos Resort – all rooms face the water – casitas 801, 802, 701 and 702 in the Agave section offer the best Pacific Ocean views. My casita, #801, rents from $985 – $1,310, depending on the season. Did I mention that all 28 casitas have private pools? In addition to three swimming pools to select from, #801 has a roof top pool, ideal for girls-getaways, family reunions and bachelor parties or those seeking privacy with a gorgeous view. Inside, the casita features a king bed, wet bar, Spanish marble bath and shower with Bulgari amenities and Frette bed linens. While I never made it to the fitness center, I was able to wave to horseback riders from my patio deck, overlooking the white sand beach.
Secrets Marquis Los Cabos Spa
The 15,000 square-foot Spa Marquis features 10 ocean-view treatment rooms, as well as a couples room, six open-air Jacuzzis, steam baths and dressing rooms for men and women. I tried the 25 minute neck and back massage, as well as the 25 minute Reflexology massage – $75 per treatment and was happy to bliss out in the relaxation room until dinner.

Eco-Conscious Secrets Marquis Los Cabos oversees its own desalinization plant where sea water is used in the guest rooms and kitchen. The water is then recycled and used for the landscaping and plants.

While the property makes their own water, hand stitched pillows in the rooms remind guests to conserve our precious resources. Personally, I always opt to re-use my sheets and towels during a short stay. I did notice that my nearly full Bulgari shampoo bottle disappeared on a daily basis, only to be replaced by a fresh Bulgari bottle in my bath amenities basket.
