Beware of misleading info and outrageously expensive rates
Found info on Harrison House Suites in a San Juan Island B&B publication. Was on Orcas Island last weekend and decided to extend our stay in the San Juans so called the San Juan Island B&B toll-free number to get availability info. Was told by person at 800 number that YES, They had just had a call from the Harrison House Suites and they had a suite available. I called and spoke to the HH Suites directly and was told they had a wonderful 1 bedroom suite with a kitchen and it'd be $250 a night. We thought it was a steep price ... Good for kids, view nice, food and housekeeping not so much...
We just went to this B&B over the holidays and found it good in some ways and not so good in other ways. To be fair - we were still being served by the "old" Innkeeper and did not see the new owners at all. The good things about the B&B are that it is very near the Ferry -- you could go over on the Ferry as a passenger and not need your car if you want to stay in town. That will save you a lot of $$ on Ferry fares and possibly car rental. We rented suites 2 & 4 (all of the upstairs of the original house). This worked out well, as we had two families (ours with 2 preschoolers and my sister's with one baby). They lived in one suite and we used the other. Our suite ... twimsmomma, a user of Tripadvisor.
