The Mark Shabby

We had such high expectations for this place - We enjoy our wine weekend in Charlottesville every year in the fall. The Mark Addy advertises itself to be much more than it actually is. Unfortunately for $230 a night, the room was not clean, the porch was filthy, paint was peeling inside and out, the breakfast was only ok and not even decent coffee - when you think about what you are paying for the place, it is very disappointing. Not ready for prime time for a large event

My family and I stayed at the Mark Addy the last weekend of September for a wedding. First off, the property is beautiful, especially in early fall. The inn itself has a lot of charm, the rooms that I saw (there are many!) were well appointed and very clean. The dining area was romantic and fairly spacious. However, it became apparent that the inn keepers, while charming and welcoming, were not prepared for large numbers of people, and the food preparation left a lot to be desired.
