Make a Special Trip - Special!

We just spent 2 lovely mid-week nights here, and can't wait to return. An easy 2-hour drive from the Boston area, with its traffic congestion and interminable drives to get anywhere, New London NH is the archetypical small New England town. Very Disappointing

Despite the high ratings found on this website, a friend and I were very disappointed by our recent visit to the New London Inn. The tone was set at check-in. The young woman at the desk, while friendly and helpful, gave us a statement that we were required to sign. Among other things, it warned that we would be charged for any items disappearing from our room, damages incurred, and cleaning – in this case $2500 - if we smoked in the room (we're both non-smokers).
