Lukewarm water and an unmade bed-- we're not impressed.

When I read the reviews on this site I'm curious about what previous travel and lodging experiences some reviewers have. Their perceptions and expectations certainly determine the ratings they give and opinions they express. I bet you often wonder the same thing too, so I will start by saying that I am a budget traveller who has recently (in the past 3-4 years) upgraded my lodging choices from hostels to shared-toilet bed-and-breakfasts and the like. I have stayed in hundreds of international hostels, several dozen B&Bs, a couple 4-star hotels, and have never stayed at a resort or destination hotel.
