Wonderful! We were tempted to keep it a secret!

I used the Tripadvisor forum (as I always do) for suggestions for somewhere to stay overnight that wasn't part of a hotel chain. This historic B & B got rave reviews - and now we know why! It is a large plantation-style old house at the very tip of Pine Island in Bokeelia overlooking the sea. It has been beautifully restored with original floors, wonderful furniture and paintings. Tarpon Lodge is the actual name of the hotel and restaurant. And it's actually in the small town of Pineland, just south of Bokeelia.
