Charming first B&B experience
I used to write entertainment reviews for my college paper... so I jumped at the opportunity to draft up my first hotel write-up. The Sonoma Orchid Inn (formerly Ridenhour Inn) is a genuine treat. I recommend the lodge to those who want a taste of Russian River hospitality without the high cost, excess fluff, or anonymity you might get at other area lodging options. Here's a rundown of the entire place: - Location: A. I wanted something close (but not too close) to Guerneville, wineries, and good restaurants. I found it! Guerneville is about 5 minutes down River Road, which is a safer, faster drive than Highway 116. Korbel Winery (most known for its champagne) is about 1 minute drive next door, and their wine/champagne tastings and tour are free.
