From Los Angeles or San Francisco: Take Interstate 5 north to the Hamilton City exit (Hwy. 32). Continue on Hwy. 32 through Chico to Hwy. 36. Go east on Hwy. 36 to Chester. The Bidwell House is last building in Chester on your left. From Reno: Take Hwy. 395 north to Susanville. Go through Susanville and continue on Hwy. 36 to Chester. The Bidwell House is first building in Chester on your right. From Sacramento: Take Interstate 5 north to the Hamilton City exit (Hwy. 32). Continue on Hwy. 32 through Chico to Hwy. 36. Go east on Hwy. 36 to Chester. For a more scenic drive you can travel through the Feather River Canyon on Hwy. 70.
